How should you administer hemp extract to pets? 

There are different types of hemp extract pet care products, so how you administer the remedy will depend on the type of product you buy. For example, Kat’s Naturals’ Pet Care works as a topical or sublingual. For topical use, simply massage a few drops of the oil into your furry friend’s ear. Or, apply the product to the back of your pet’s neck by opening the fur to access their skin. If you’d prefer to administer this pet care product internally, the steps are just as easy. You can put a few drops in your pet’s lower gum line between their lip and teeth, or you can place a few drops of Pet Care into your four-legged friend’s food. Why these ingredients?

Olive oil:

Olive oil is a liquid obtained from olives (the fruit of Olea europaea; family Oleaceae), a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin. Can be used topically or internally. Contains leic Acid (C18:1), a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. It makes up 55 to 83% of olive oil. Linoleic Acid (C18:2), a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid that makes up about 3.5 to 21% of olive oil.

Extraction Method: Cold pressed from seed.

Serving Size 

Currently, there isn’t a recommended serving size for hemp extract. Several variables can influence the amount  that your pet should take. We recommend starting with the smallest serving size and increasing it based on your furry friend’s experience. If your pet feels relief with a smaller serving size, continue to use that amount. But if you’d like your pet to experience more relief, you can increase the serving size. We encourage you to write down how your pet’s serving size is affecting them. This routine will provide insight into how different serving sizes have helped your four-legged friend.

Oral:

Place drops in pet’s lower gum line between lip and teeth.   

Dose by size:   

Small to medium: 5-8 drops   

Large and up: 12 drops  

Topical:

Rub 3-5 drops to the venous area (furless area of the ear flap) of your pet. Switch ears each time you administer drops. To prevent excess build-up, use ear cleaner or ear wash and cotton balls or wipes between doses.
