Hemp Extract 101
Hemp Extract 101
1. What is Hemp Extract?
Hemp extract is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant.
2. How does Hemp Extract work?
Hemp extract helps support a healthy nervous system. It’s like a vitamin for your endocannabinoid system (ECS).
The ECS is a biological system composed of neurotransmitters that bind to receptors CB1 and CB2, which are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. Hemp extract helps modulate and regulate the firing of the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
3. What is homeostasis?
Homeostasis is your body’s process of maintaining a stable internal environment that’s suitable for life. Examples of homeostasis are your body’s ability to control its internal temperature and maintain proper blood sugar levels. Failures in homeostasis can lead to diseases like hypertension and diabetes.
4. How do I use Hemp Extract?
Sublingually: We advise taking 3-5 drops of hemp extract oil, which is a mid-range amount for most individuals. Put the hemp extract drops underneath your tongue and keep them there for 60 seconds. The effects of the hemp extract oil will work in 15 minutes and last 4-6 hours.
Inhale: We recommend that you inhale 2-3 puffs of hemp extract, which is a medium-size amount for most individuals. When you inhale, hold your breath for 5 seconds. This method works very fast and lasts about 2-4 hours.
Topically: Rub a small amount of hemp extract onto the affected area of your body — there’s no need to use large amounts. This method works very fast and lasts about 2-4 hours.
Edibles: We suggest eating one chocolate square or 1 tsp. of edible hemp. It takes around 30-45 minutes for the edible to take effect, but it lasts up to 8 hours.
5. What is full-spectrum hemp extract?
Full-spectrum hemp extract products are sometimes called “whole plant,” meaning the full plant extract is included, and the remedy contains all of the elements of the hemp plant, including naturally occurring terpenes.
6. What is a drug test safe hemp extract?
As the name suggests, these hemp extract products have been extracted down to the hemp extract molecule, creating a pure hemp extract remedy that is 100% drug test safe.
7. What is the difference between full-spectrum and drug test safe sublingual?
Full-spectrum hemp extracts are not drug test safe.
Drug test safe hemp extract oil does not include any elements of the plant that will cause one to fail a drug test. The hemp extract is isolated when it goes through an extraction process, making it a safe bet for people who take drug tests.
8. What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a test result that’s conducted by a laboratory that analyzes products for quality, purity, and concentration.
9. Are all hemp extract products organic?
No. Organic hemp extract products must be grown on soil that’s free from external pollutants for at least three years, and the grower must not use any non-organic fertilizers, soil amendments, or herbicides or pesticides. The product must also contain 70% or more organic ingredients.
Our organic products include 100% certified organic hemp. However, at this time, the USDA is only certifying farms that grow organic hemp, not hemp extract products.
10. Is hemp extract safe for seizures?
We cannot directly answer that question. However, we can say that peppermint can cause seizures in people with epilepsy. If you choose to use hemp extract, pick Naked, which has no added essential oils. If you have medical conditions or are on any medications, we suggest using all hemp extract products under a doctor’s supervision.
11. Will my medications interact with hemp extract products?
Certain medications will not interact well with hemp extract. If your medications warn against eating grapefruit — because it activates the P450 liver enzyme — you should not use hemp extract at all. Hemp extract could cause the medication to become toxic in your system. You should be monitored by a physician if you choose to use the two together.
12. Why don’t I “feel” the hemp extract?
As with remedy, consistency is key. Hemp extract is non-psychoactive, so you’re not going to feel anything. In fact, if you “feel it” (tired, irritable, restless, or anxious), then you’re probably taking too much. You are never going to feel hemp extract. You are only going to feel relief.
13. I seem to be needing more and more hemp extract to get the results I used to get. What can I do?
We recommend that you take a break from hemp extract for 3 to 4 days. This short hiatus will reset your body. When the break is over, use the lowest dose of hemp extract. If you need to increase it, do so by adding one drop per dose every other day until you find the perfect dosage for you.
14. If I order a product today, how long will it take for me to receive it?
It usually takes 3 to 5 business days to receive your shipment.
